Marco Antonio Teixeira wins best doctoral thesis award
The scientific coordinator of Food for Justice, Marco Antonio dos Santos Teixeira, was the winner of the MARIA DE NAZARETH BAUDEL WANDERLEY Award, granted by the Rural Studies Network (Rede de Estudos Rurais). The award is given to the best doctoral thesis defended between July 2018 and 2021, in Postgraduate Programs linked to the area of Human and Interdisciplinary Sciences and whose study focus is the Brazilian rural world.
The title of the winning thesis, defended in August 2018 in the Postgraduate Program in Sociology at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, under the supervision of Prof. Breno Bringel , is “Movimentos sociais, ações coletivas e reprodução social: a experiência da Contag (1963- 2015)” (Social movements, collective actions and social reproduction: the experience of Contag). The award ceremony was held on October 7th during the virtual assembly of the 9th Meeting of the Network of Rural Studies.
