The infiltration of farmers’ protests? – Analysis and commentary on the German agricultural protests in December 2023 and January 2024

In an article published by Correctiv, Birgit Peuker and other researchers comment on the possibility of infiltration of the agricultural protests that took place last winter. An instrumentalization of the farmers’ anger and distress cannot be ruled out, not only by external actors but also by actors from the organizational level. At the same time it is stated: “But this does not mean that all farmers, truck drivers and other demonstrators who were on the streets around the farmers’ protests are right-wing extremists or conspiracy ideologues.”
