Food for Justice Project Closing Workshop – 24 to 27 March 2025

The team of Food for Justice and associated researchers conducted a workshop at the Lateinamerika-Institut (LAI) at Freie Universität Berlin to finalize the project activities, particularly focusing on the publication of an edited volume synthesizing the group’s work across its various research projects. The book will offer in-depth analyses of studies conducted in Brazil and Germany, as well as comparative chapters on case studies from both countries, for example, on Slow Food movements and the protests Marcha das Margaridas and Wir haben es satt!.

Participants in the workshop included Renata Motta, Birgit Peuker, Lea Zentgraf, Eryka Galindo, Judith Müller, Mariana Calcagni, Thalita Kalix, and Federico Masson. In addition to intensive feedback sessions on the respective book chapters, discussions also addressed organizational matters related to consolidating the BMBF project, which concluded on March 31, 2025.
